Chris is Co-founder and Chair of Vision for Sustainable Events. He is also Co-Founder, Operations Director and Sustainability lead of Shambala Festival as well as CEO of ecolibrium – a charity that tackles travel emissions at live events. He has spent 17 years pioneering green initiatives that tackle food sourcing, plastics, energy, travel and wider environmental impacts at events. He has has written and collaborated on many resources that support festival organisers tackle their environmental impacts, and has key roles in a number of industry initiatives including: Environmental Consultant at Kambe Events, co-founder and Chair of Powerful Thinking and Associate for Festivals and Events with Julie’s Bicycle.

Chiara is Sector Knowledge Intelligence Lead at Julie’s Bicycle. She is a curator, speaker, researcher, and facilitator working across Julie’s Bicycle’s programmes and events, with a focus on getting the music industry up to speed when it comes to embedding environmental sustainability and best practice in their activities.

For the Intelligent Energy Europe-funded EE MUSIC Project (2013-2016), Chiara helped train over 100 music events industry professionals in energy efficiency through workshops in Denmark, Portugal, UK, Ireland, France, Austria, and Norway.

Chiara has contributed to JB publications including the Powerful Thinking ‘The Show Must Go On’ report on UK music festival environmental impacts; IFACCA D’Art Report 34b: The Arts and Environmental Sustainability: An International Overview of cultural policy on environmental sustainability; the Julie’s Bicycle COP21 Creative Manifesto briefing; and Julie’s Bicycle Practical Guides on a wide range of topics.

Chiara holds a degree in Natural Sciences/History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge and has previously worked in cultural PR, live music promotions, and for music and arts festivals.

Graham supports Vision for Sustainable Events with PR and manages the Green Supplier Directory and Partnership Relations.

Graham has over two decades in events media and PR, supporting sustainable initiatives and creative event industry communications, through his consultancy Brown Fox Comms. He supports organisers and suppliers to strategically connect their brands with their clients, stakeholders and to build communities. Graham has been a trustee of the charity ecolibrium since 2018 having met other trustees through his role as brand advisor for ecolibrium’s founding organisation, Powerful Thinking, and realising the positive impact the charity could make around transport emissions in the festival and event sector.

Bethan joined Vision for Sustainable Events in 2015 to work on the Show Must Go On report copy and launch. She works with steering group members across communications for the project. She also manages Vision for Sustainable Events membership and events.

Bethan also works as communication manager for ecolibrium, a charity that helps live events, artists and suppliers to tackle their travel impacts through climate solutions.

Tim is Vision for Sustainable Events’s Power Consultant. Tim is Founder and Production Director at SMART Power Ltd, an award winning live event power contractor. SMART Power specialises in delivering low impact power solutions and energy monitoring for live events and broadcast. His clients include Live Nation, Left Bank Pictures, Shambala Festival, Manchester Pride and We Love Green Festival (Paris).

He is also Technical Director and Environmental Consultant at ZAP Concepts, where he works internationally to assist event organisers on providing sustainable solutions for power management, waste and recycling, water, travel and touring, biodiversity and resource management. His clients include Sony Pictures, Modern Sky Festivals (China), Boardmasters Festival and Brighton Pride.

Tim is Chairman & Project Lead for Powerful Thinking, the outdoor events industry energy working group. He has contributed content for all their published reports and is the author of the energy chapter in their new Show Must Go Report, which was published in February . He also sits on the sustainability working group for UK Live Music. He is further the UK chapter lead for the international body The Sustainable Event Alliance and is an Assessor for A Greener Festival.
