This Earth Day 2026, we are calling on all event organisers to commit to the Vision 2030 Pledge—a blueprint for organisers towards halving emissions by 2030 with support from government and the supply chain. Take the pledge https://bit.ly/VisionPledge2030
Following unprecedented industry collaboration, the third edition of The Show Must Go On report and the Climate Transition Plan have established a clear, industry-wide target: a 50% overall reduction in emissions by 2030.
While organisers can map out a 38% reduction through direct action, the pledge also identifies the systemic barriers that must be overcome through shifts in government policy and the supply chain to reach the final 50% goal.
Designed for events of all scales, the pledge offers a ready-made sustainability strategy via a checklist of 30 practical, achievable climate actions. Event organisers who take the pledge will gain access to: Expert-led masterclasses impact-tracking tools, and exclusive industry roundtables to support their journey.
The pledge is supported by key organisations, including; AEG, Superstruct, LIVE (Live music Industry Venues & Entertainment) and Kilimanjaro Live.
Zac Fox, CEO, Kilimanjaro Live, comments:
“As festival organisers we tend to have our heads down, working hard to overcome whatever issue has arisen lately. It’s so important though that there are eyes and minds focused on the mid to long term impact of what we do. I am immensely impressed by this report and the clear suggestions for improvement that it includes. Kilimanjaro Live are more than happy to add our name to the pledge.”
Further backing the movement, The Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) is committed to supporting members to adopt the pledge and take action through the recently launched Step Change project, funded by Ticket Tailor’s Earth Invest fund.
John Rostron, Director, at The Association of Independent Festivals, states:
“AIF has a long and deep commitment to sharing best practice and driving positive interventions in the festival sector that move operators, audiences and artists to tackle the climate crisis. Through our Step Change Fund, supported by Ticket Tailor’s Earth Invest, we now have human and financial resources to support our members to align with the Vision 2030 Climate pledge and together expedite achieving what is needed to meet these ambitious, but necessary and achievable goals.”
Early festivals adopters of the pledge include: Shambala, Love Saves the Day, Wild Paths, Greenbelt, Belladrum, Forwards, Medicine Festival, Norwich & Norfolk Festival, Tropical Pressure, Wild Rumpus and Bristol Harbourside Festival and many more…
