Many in the events industry will already know Ticket Tailor, the online ticketing platform supporting event organisers across the globe. Their journey began back in 2010, and over the years, as the number of events using their platform grew, so too did their impact. At the heart of Ticket Tailor is an ethos they call Growth On Purpose, summarised by founder Jonny White:
“We’ve always believed that growing a business is about so much more than just profit. We want to make sure every ticket sold on our platform has a positive impact.”
That belief is more than words. Ticket Tailor’s B Corp status, carbon credentials and Penny For The Planet initiative, through which the company donates 1p from every ticket sold across four climate charity partners, have long underpinned an impact strategy centred on environmental sustainability. Now, the company has pledged £40,000 to help establish The AIF’s Sustainability Step Change Fund.
This support comes from Ticket Tailor’s EarthInvest fund, established to partner with the leading sustainability initiatives within the events sector.
The Sustainability Step Change Fund helps the AIF work directly with its members to minimise their impact on the climate and adopt more sustainable practices. AIF members can make an initial expression of interest to benefit from the fund as they begin or accelerate their own sustainability journey, joining a “coalition of the willing” that the AIF can work alongside to drive meaningful, lasting change.
For independent festivals in particular, many operating on tight margins, this kind of financial backing can be the difference between good intentions and real progress. It removes a significant barrier for organisers who want to act but lack the resources to do so alone.
As Ticket Tailor founder Jonny said:
“We have always taken responsibility for our own carbon impact, but are acutely aware that events themselves are a big strain on the planet’s resources. That’s something we want to help address. Our AIF sponsorship is a big statement that we want to support events in their sustainability journey and, for many, that will require financial support, which our Earth Invest funding can provide.”
The pledge marks a meaningful step in a longer partnership between Ticket Tailor and the AIF, one rooted in a shared belief that a thriving independent festival scene and a healthy planet can, and should, go hand in hand.
