In July 2025, Big Green Coach proudly facilitated its first fully electric shuttle bus service, transporting more than 500 passengers between LIV Golf UK and Derby train station.
Every journey was operated by a 100% electric and locally-sourced double-decker bus. With on-site charging infrastructure provided by the event, this initiative showcased how sustainable travel can be integrated into large-scale events.
Kevin Green, Operations Director at Big Green Coach, commented:
“The LIV Golf electric shuttle demonstrated that zero-emission group transport is not just a future ambition but already a reality at major events. By operating seamlessly across the tournament, it proved that sustainability and fan experience can go hand in hand. This sets a powerful precedent for how transport providers can help the live music and festival industry cut emissions without compromising on the quality of service. We’re excited to scale this model and support more clients across the live events sector in achieving their environmental goals.”
Ultimately eliminating tailpipe emissions and reducing congestion around the venue, this successful operation marked a huge milestone in Big Green Coach’s longstanding commitment to lowering the carbon footprint of travel to events.
Looking forward, Big Green Coach is excited to build on this momentum and continue to support the live events sector in its transition to a more sustainable future.
